Kyla is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). She has a Master of Arts in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Kyla specializes in working with adults (ages 18+) who are experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, school/career stress, and relationship issues. By offering a safe and empathetic space, Kyla encourages clients to explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and enhance their personal growth. Knowing that taking the first step towards therapy can be overwhelming, Kyla’s approach is warm, patient and flexible.

She works from a strength-based perspective, guided by a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-based and mindfulness-based approaches. She works with clients to identity thoughts and patterns that may be contributing to their distress. By fostering awareness of these patterns, clients can develop new, healthier ways to cope and build more secure and healthy relationships.

Her professional experience in both private practice and community mental health organizations has allowed her to witness the resilience and strength of individuals facing many challenges. Kyla works from both a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach, recognizing that each person brings unique narratives and needs.
